Can't get enough runway hair ...

I get so excited when I walk into the house because I know what's waiting for me on my laptop. New fashion shows!

I'm starting to see similar trends appear on the multiple runways, and so far-- I'm loving them.

Not only are deep side parts popular, but middle parts are appearing left and right. Like the deep side part, these middle parts are perfectly straight with hair that is slicked down. To me, that screams modern and futuristic.

We can see these striking middle parts at the Zac Posen show:

Alexander Wang
When I think NYC fashion, I think Alexander Wang. Strong, edgy, and bold. The models sported classic sleek ponytails with a strong middle part. The difference between the middle parts on his models and others? Black tape to break up a middle part.

I want this dress and the shoes. It would be perfect to wear
at the salon. *drrooooolllssss*

Lela Rose
From dark boldness to colorful preppy, middle parts are seen everywhere regardless of your style. The middle part can be versatile to anything that you wear.

Monique Lhuillier
When I hear the name "Monique Lhuillier" I think of lavish extraordinary gowns that take my breath away. After seeing her Spring 2013 RTW collection ... I'm starting to have a new view on Monique. The designer was inspired by all thing aquatic this season, so the models hair was slicked back with a middle part that flowed back into tightly wound curls. Very mermaid like.
Peplums are my new favorite things.

Although the slick middle part is such a strong element,
the softness of the curls gives a very gentle and romantic touch.

I've grown a new appreciation for the color aqua.

Victoria Beckham
I've always over her style and poshness, and the more and more I see her designs ... the more I like them. Again, we see a slick prominent middle part with the softens throughout.

Diane Von Furstenberg
Both middle and side parts complimented these vibrant prints and colors on the runway at Diane Von Furstenburg. I am in absolute awe of the Spring 2013 Collection. There isn't a single garment that I don't like. If you haven't seen the collection, you must immediately.

 Look at those fabulous earrings!

Yes, yes, and YES!

To achieve the slick middle part, use the end of a comb to section your hair. Depending on how slick and "wet looking" you want it to be, you can do this with wet hair. After sectioning your hair, cocktail the Wella Velvet Amplifier with the Wella Pearl Styler and apply from root to midshaft and finger comb through ends. You can curl the ends for a soft tussled wave, or tie back in a sleek ponytail. For a softer look, use in dry hair.

Hair, Hair, Everywhere!

There are not enough hours in the day! If only I didn't need 8 hours of sleep every night to function like a normal human being ... I could get so much done. Ever wonder what'd it be like if humans only needed oh let's say an hour worth of sleep every night to function properly?

I'm playing catch up with my fashion shows within the last 2 days. There is no better way to spend a cold (60 degrees after 100 degree days?!) and rainy Saturday evening than with a cup of ginger tea in hand and fashion galore.

First up, Peter Som.
Why hello color! We welcome spring with soft pastels... in your perfectly tussled hair.

Quick Note: I am in LOVE with this jacket.
The cut and print are so feminine and eye-catching.
And seriously ... in pink?
Too fabulous.

 A peek-a-boo rainbow streak
to spice things up.
This is great for you ladies out there that
want something different but are afraid of
the long term commitment and maintenance.
Worried about it not being office appropriate?
It can be easily tucked away. LOVE!

Different and subtle hues can be used.

These pastels are fun and flirty on dark hair.

These colors definitely pop on blondes.

Moving on to See by Chloé
Chloé is known for the basics. Clean lines, solid colors, and timeless silhouettes. The hair is the reflection of such. Tussled, one length, rich colors.

 The Classic Chloé.
Tan oversized jacket with warm chestnut waves.

Blondes have a combination of high and lowlights
to bring depth.

Jason Wu
As seen in Richard Chai's collection, strong sleek deep side parts are emerging everywhere on the runways this season. But at the same time, a soft bounce is paired with a hard part. Bring both masculinity and femininity together.

Talk about black, lace, and leather. After seeing his Spring 2013 Collection ... who would have thought he was the same person that dressed our First Lady Michelle Obama for the Inaugural Ball 4 years ago? I couldn't help but think-- he could be dressing Elena's character in 50 Shades of Grey. Agree?

Meet Elena, from 50 Shades of Grey.
Strong, independent, and fierce.

Deep strong side part gives a
"don't mess with me" vibe.

Soft bounce gives the hairstyle movement.

I wonder if I can get away with wearing this at the salon?

I was so excited to see this show: Rebecca Minkoff
Like seen on many runways so far, it's all about the "I just rolled out of bed and have fabulous sex hair." Remember, imperfection is key. Your waves don't have to be like identical little toy soldiers. Some pieces don't even have to be curled all the way. Gals with naturally wavy hair, can get away with finger combing your hair. A great product to use is Wella's Ocean Spritz Spray.

One of my favorite styling products.
Spray on dry hair to scrunch and shape with your fingers.

This is too fabulous, I almost can't take it.
I'd sell one of my kidneys for that clutch.

I have officially fallen in love with every piece in her
collection. What organs do I have to sell?

Hervé Léger by Max Azria
Who doesn't love short fitted dresses?
Like on other runways, Hervé Léger's runway emphasized deep side parts. What was different? Was that the side with lesser hair was slicked straight back. So when you look at the model, she looks as though she's pixie on one side and long on the other. Again, futuristic meets femininity.

Love the dress. Love, Love, Love!

 Futuristic meets femininity.

Slick back part with soft locks.

I've always been a fan of deep parts because they bring edginess to the style, whereas some think they are borderline comb overs. (I, myself have a deep side part.) How do you feel about deep parts?

Stay tuned for what Alexander Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Nicole Miler among others have common.
